Webster retires in order to focus on his true love

The news that former Chilli and National Team captain Chris Webster has retired from Ultimate has been greeted with horror from the Cape Town egg community.

Announcing his retirement from Ultimate Webster told ChilliUltimate.co.za, “I think the time has come for me to take a break. I just need to spend some time focussing on other things and properly running down my batteries.”

Asked about his batteries, Webster said he needed to eat more eggs in order to keep up with the prolific pace at which his chickens were currently laying.

“The more time I spend playing Ultimate, the less time I can spend eating eggs,” said Webster.

A spokesperson for Chilli, Julian Buyskes-Abrahams said he wished Webster well. “Chris has played a huge role for Chilli over the years,” he said. “We wish him well with egg-eating endeavours.”

He added that while Webster’s shirt number would not immediately be retired, other plans were being made to honour the ten-season stalwart.

“We have decided to name a player after Chris instead,” said Buyskes-Abrahams, who added that he was looking forward to introducing AnEgg into the mix.
